Episode 79: End of the Summer

Jigga begins by making a bold claim about what the best song of the summer of all time is.

We discuss everything from the changing of the seasons, whether or not vests are actually effective warmth-retaining devices, the NFL, the Facebook version of #Twindignant, yoga, the monster cereals, and some new music, etc.

Jho and Groove agree on a song: Cherubs Doses & Mimimosas

Episode 76

We’re back! Enjoy this week’s episode. New episodes every Friday – be sure to get back on this train to hypetown.

Hype:

Groove gets a letter in the mail from his 18 year old self. Jigga clowns him.

Jigga quit his bullshit job and re-launched his own business. Now he’s working for his shitty self.

Not Hype:

Jigga’s roommate’s cat pissed on his hat. Jigga’s beginning to think it’s a hate crime.

Groove: Olympics hangover (http://huckberry.com/blog/posts/123-an-american-in-london)

Hype still out

Jigga’s waiting for checks.

Groove: Lotta music coming out this fall.

Consuming:

Jho – the ting tings

Groove – yeasayer

Jho – reality tv marathons

Groove – Ender’s Game

Outtro: Yeasayer, Reagan’s Skeleton

Episode 73: The Anniversary Episode

This podcast is three years old, and we’re a bit disappointed in ourselves for sticking with this.

Jho’s birthday was approaching when we recorded this episode, but has since passed. He spends a lot of time complaining about “hoopla” over birthdays. You can still tweet him a birthday wish @IOLTOS.
We inadvertently get into a discussion about tea vs. coffee.
Hype:

Jho – Getting taxes done early. He’s spending his tax return on the lottery. Discussion about that crazy lottery jackpot ensues. Jho tells us what he’d do if he won the lottery.
Groove – The new stand up comedy special trend that was started by Louis CK. Following in CK’s footsteps is Aziz Ansari and Jim Gaffigan. Joey talks again about how Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead were the ones who started that (IOLTOS).
Not Hype:

Jho – People that assume you agree with their social positions, religion, or politics.
Groove – This podcast isn’t showing up on iTunes anymore. If you’re listening to this episode, consider yourself a legit fan, because you’re on our shitty website.

Shamehype:
Jho - David Guetta and Nicki Minaj (“It’s big of me to admit that.”)
Groove – Promoting my guest post on TheWiseGuise.

What’chu Been Listening To:

Groove - The Weeknd, Several podcasts – Doug Loves Movies, WTF, and Bullseye.
Groove is going to see Owen’s band, The Great Malarkey, this coming week. (As of recording the podcast. This is coming out much later – The Great Malarkey put on a fantastic show.)
Outtro: Alexander, Truth (from self-titled album, Alexander)
Thanks for three years.

Episode 72: uhhhh….posterized

Griffin dunking on Gasol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sh2ZT1aPBoE

Groove’s Hype, Not Hype, and Hype Still Out: His wife and sister-in-law went on a 14 day trip through France and Spain. He doesn’t know how they will survive the trip.

Jho’s Hype: Cadbury Mini Eggs
Jho’s Not Hype: Saying goodbye to someone at a store or a restaurant, then realizing you’ve parked beside each other in the parking lot.
Jho’s Shamehype: IHOP? Groove says there’s no shame in that.
Groove’s Shamehype: Purchasing a playlist in iTunes. Jho says purchasing anything in iTunes is shameful.
Jho’s listening to: CCR (born on the bayou)
Groove’s been listening to: Kendrick Lamar
Jho and Groove have an absurd argument about “new vs. old” Mos Def. It’s a waste of everyone’s time.
Outdated, unqualified NBA playoff discussion ensues…

Episode 71: Episode 71?

We recorded an episode that sucked. We trashed it. This is not that episode, but it still sucks. But we can’t dictate what you should do with your time, so if you want to waste it on this shitty podcast, feel free.

We talk about IHOP, #BucketOfDicks, throwing up, and indifference toward Anchorman 2.

Hype:

Jho – IHOP

Groove – More visitors for Groove in London.

Not Hype:

Jho – Pollen headaches, and Jho has a house in his neighborhood that shuts down his car when he drives by it. Explanations? We’re at a loss for it.

Hype Still Out:

Jho –  The third season (current one) of Eastbound and Down. This digresses into a discussion about plausibility vs. absurdity within television shows. Can a show that starts with a heavy amount of plausibility successfully cross the line into absurdity without jumping the shark? Jho references the paintball episode of Community for the fiftieth time and the bat episode of the American version of The Office for the thirtieth time.

Groove: Groupon bus trip to Stonehenge and Bath. Groove has a healthy fear of riding on a coach bus loaded with tourists and a tour guide from 8am to 7pm.

Shame Hype:

Jho – Jigga combines Shame Hype with What’chu’been Listening to LMFAO.

Groove – “I went ahead and purchased a clarinet off Amazon…And there’s an outside chance that I might join Owen’s band, The Great Malarkey.”

What’chu’been Listening to:

Groove – Kendrick Lamar and Geographer. Also, bondax on soundcloud.

Groove questions whether or not his recent viewing habit on Netflix should be considered Shame Hype: Scrubs.

And a big thanks to The Oatmeal Conspiracy for the new intro to the show.

Episode 70: Peyton needs to show his ass

In this episode, we find out that one of our listeners actually bought a CD from Starbucks! So, that’s an actual thing.

Hype!

Food trucks! Joey’s city finally has a food truck and he’s pretty excited about it. Check out Poor Piggies!

Do you have any food trucks in your town?

Baseball is back! Groove may not care at all but Jho and Miss are sure excited!

Not the Hype –

Bye Payton Manning

Jho is listening to some One Republic and Groove has been listening to last weeks recommended Greg Laswell song. He’s also in tour mode since he has guests visiting him so he’s been listening to free tour guide podcasts.

Miss is listening to music off of TV commercials and Groove proves he’s a hipster.
